Return to the Workforce

We have opportunities for parents wanting to return to the workforce – whether you are a single parent on the Sole Parent Benefit or part of a couple needing to find a second income.  Mothers Helpers is working with universities and polytechnics offering courses that will meet the criteria for the Training Incentive Allowance offered by WINZ by providing work experience* throughout your course to enable you to find work at the completion of your course.

Opportunities

We are offering work experience* (unpaid) placements in the following areas:

  • Administration
  • Accounting
  • Graphic Design/Web Design
  • Event Management
  • Human Resources
  • Public Relations
  • Management
  • Counselling
  • Social Work
  • Support Worker
  • Early Childhood Education/Nannying

What We Offer You

We can offer you the following:

  • Support with your application for training (WINZ for TIA and University/Polytechnic Applications)
  • Work experience* that will increase your chances of finding work on course completion
  • Mentoring, supervision and support with your studies and your work experience
  • The opportunity to work from home or in your local area at times that are flexible and convenient to you
  • The opportunity to “give back” by working for an organization that supports families who are struggling or at-risk
  • A good reference and work history on your CV to take with you when applying for jobs

* Please note, all work experience with Mothers Helpers is unpaid work for you to gain experience in a particular field
